How does Advansor reduce energy consumption and operating costs?
Refrigeration is often the largest energy expense in grocery, cold-storage and large commercial facilities, consuming 60–70% of total energy in retail grocery environments.
Advansor recommends:
- Using CO2 as the refrigerant, as it is highly energy efficient
- Using a climate solution that combines cooling, freezing, air conditioning and heating
- Choosing energy-saving options such as LSPM motors, frequency inverters, Low Superheat or Ultra-Low Superheat
Often, systems are designed for highest ambient temperatures and peak capacities. Therefore, it is important to consider part-load operation.
Cylinder-unloading technology on the MT1 compressor enables the rack to run at part loads as low as 10%, and the sizing of the MT1 and MT2 compressors ensures a smooth transition between compressor steps, thereby optimising regulation.
Fewer start/stop cycles also extend the service life of compressors.
Pressure is also very important, and all Advansor systems operate as standard at 130 bar, which:
- Allows up to 13% higher capacity
- Allows higher operating conditions, resulting in up to 7% higher COP
- Allows higher water temperatures for heating
